The aim of the Robert Marley Foundation Ltd. Jamaica is to support
local,
national and international communities where the need for charitable
assistance
is greatest. The Foundation, founded in 1986, has contributed
financial,
cultural and other important resources to many communities and
organizations in
Jamaica. Our intent and motivation is to fulfill the vision of the
Honorable
Robert Nesta Marley O.M. while reaching those in need through love
and
brotherhood.
The Foundation is actively involved in the planning and
implementation of
various activies including art exhibitions, film festivals, workshops
for
cultural development, talent shows and much more. One major highlight
on our calendar
of events is the Bob Marley Week celebration. This major event is a
celebration of Brother Bob's life and is hosted in collaboration with
the Jamaica
Tourist Board and J.C.D.C. The Foundation is proud to facilitate much
of our work
through the Bob Marley Museum that houses a theatre and gallery; a
library with
the latest boks on Bob Marley, reggae music, and more; and a gift
shop
specializing in unique African arts and crafts.
The Robert Marley Foundation continues its pursuit to become a
charitable
organization by meeting the requirements provided by the Jamaica
Tourist Board
and J.C.D.C.
